Welcome to Cheltenham Croquet Club!
Do you ever think of taking up a new sport? Why not visit the Cheltenham Croquet Club? Our club is situated on the Old Bath Road adjacent to the East Gloucestershire Club.

The Club has 11 full size lawns and a large practice area. There are about 200 active members of all ages and both sexes, ranging from complete beginners to players of county and even international standard. New members are welcome, and a free introductory coaching session is provided.

All variations of croquet - handicap, advanced, short, golf and one ball - are played all year round. Lawns are available during the winter months for hardier members!

The Club has a friendly atmosphere and a busy social life. there are events as diverse as skittles, barbecues and wine tastings. During summer there is usually someone in the bar to swop stories with! Club lunches during the winter months and events such as the ‘Freezing but Fun’ New Year’s Day One Ball ensure that nobody need miss out during the off season.

Following its recent move from Hurlingham, the Croquet Association now has its headquarters in the Club grounds. The Club has hosted the Open Championships and international tournaments such as the MacRobertson Shield series of Test Matches, and in 2005 the Club hosted the World Championships. In 2007 Cheltenham hosted a new European Team Championship event together with a full range of Croquet Association and internal competitions.

Spectators are always welcome and members are delighted to be asked to explain the finer points of the game. There are additional coaching opportunities throughout the summer for beginners and more advanced players. All that is needed is a pair of flat soled shoes as the Club provides mallets and other equipment.

So come along and give this fascinating game a try!
